Why Proactiv
Proactiv was unkown in Ireland until recently and we only found out about it through friends who live in the US where it is a big seller through infomercials. It was created by two dermatologists, Rodan and Fields and is based on Benzoyl Peroxide-Combination Therapy - so called because you have to use all the products in combination.
However, when trying to obtain the Proactive Solution here in Ireland ourselves, we became frustrated for two reasons. Firstly, there were no local providers in Ireland meaning we had to look to the UK for supplies and secondly, the active ingredients in the UK formulation contain Salicylic Acid and not Benzoyl Peroxide, as is the case for the US formulation.
By all accounts we have heard, the US product appears to be the better product and tends to be less harsh on the skin. For this reason we decided to start this website to provide the Irish public with an easier way to access this fantastic product
